Age old G-Max still very much usable for visualisation. I have always encouraged our office pals to make use of g-max for previsualisation purposes.

UI

just a quick hint, a total redesign of my blog is in process. Along with there are some interesting things i would be sharing from various media i have been working all these years.
so watch out for a refreshing UI design soon. I have been learning a bit of CSS and HTML at least to manage my blog and my website, yeah you heard it right.. website..will soon update about it.

Im in love at first sight !!

I have been working on normal maps and displacements for a while in our projects( should i say learning). Some time back i came to witness this tool called "crazy bump".

Wow im just amazed by the power of it. It makes anybody working on textures, displacements and normals easier than ever.

It even eases the user to view it on the 3D object which the normal map supposed to be on.
I highly recommend it for any type of work related to normal mapping. Guys at crazy bump are doing a great job.

nothing much to update today, so i will post a game animation test i did recently. It was quite interesting. Still a wip, i need to finish couple of animation tests on this yet.
The model is just above 500 triangles,and the total bones in the rig is only 20.
here is one of the small test anim i did last week.

another set of my works

Here are some my works i have done recently. All these are modeled, rigged and animated my me.
These are only just the screencaps of those files. The final images are having lots of layered maps and fur on them. Some of them have multilayered textures for displacement,reflection,bump,ambient maps done by some of the best artist i have ever seen Mojo,Tony and Sajay. They are my colleagues whom im working with. So its all about team work.
My part is only Modeling Rigging and Animating them as part of the projects.
























here are some of the wip's im doing, below is a cartoon car model im rigging now just for fun.
Vehicle rigging is always seems to be interesting, since i used to play a lot of car games at home. Im trying for a realtime rig where i can drive it across the viewport and have all those dynamics stuff happen realtime. ( ofcourse real time dynamics in viewport sucks in max comparing to XSI and Maya) well i can use reactor for this type of rig, but i want to just imitate those things using just constraints and simple controls using just Max.


I will try to post this rig soon. As usual I appreciate and welcome all your comments and critiques on all these.

creating demoreel is taking time...

its been a while i started my shortfilm and as well my demoreel work. btw the "balli rig" which i did for short film is half way done.. i still need to do some skinning test. u can view the spine test youtube video in my last post here.

now the hard part of getting the plot ready and make it more interesting...as the main character is the robo cop i designed and posted earlier here.

soon there will be some updates ...so keep watching & cheers :)

My best friend and very good animator

Time for animating

Have to admit most of my time is consumed by my office project nowadays. when i come home its like a total machine shutdown. I have to organise myself to finish my animation test with my latest rigs and start animating for the new Showreel.
Only in the weekends my mind feels completely free to think and animate these characters. :-\

Anim_rig


There u go with another model/rig here. This model is just some simple shapes, i created to practice my animation talent. I created this one in 3dsmax. This rig has a hand control script which can store hand poses.

Made some rough animation tests with this rig so far. Feels good to animate again.

Will try to post some anim_tests soon.

The little dancing robot


Here is my another quick creation of a robot. I have created the model and the rig using G-Max to share among my friends to practice animation.

To check the Rig usability im doing a break-dance animation with this rig inside G-Max. Soon i will try to post a animation sample.

off the hook

well... here i come again... !! i was off the hook for some time been busy with my new project in our office...
lately i got some free time where im making this cool new "pods" which will also enter in the reel im making...dunno y im sticking with this robot theme.. but it seems cool... my concepts for the animations are also getting in shape...so it all going fun...so far....lets see...

I will post some screencaps in the coming week or so..... keep watching....!!!

G-Max show off !!

here i am again.. :-)
.. well in the initial stage i modelled this robo_cop_junior inside G-Max to show some of my friends, that G-Max is still very much usable to learn character animation...hmm lets say with less number of tools !!...but i guess they are enough to have fun with this Robo_Junior...
later on i thought i need this model inside 3dsmax.. and there it all started .. there was no proper exporter from G-Max to 3DMax. after a long search i found that there are couple of scripts available to export G-MAx models in to 3DSMax as .md3 formats.

finally i learnt a lesson :-) to model all the geometry inside the main package itself..
now im modelling the robo_dog in 3DSMax..
